Alex Liguori Takes Over The Head Coach Position For The Sheridan Varsity Men’s Soccer Team
After a month-long journey, Sheridan Bruins Athletics have hired a new Men’s Soccer Head Coach to lead the Men’s Soccer program.
According to Sheridan Athletics, there were many excellent candidates who applied, however Liguori stood out and edged the others by already understanding the vision of the program.
Alex Liguori joined the Bruins last season as an Assistant Coach to former Head Coach Andrew Seuragde; with one year under his belt, Liguori decided to seize the opportunity and look toward being at the helm of the program. Not only has Liguori already coached in the OCAA, he competed in the mid to late 90’s with George Brown and was named the Male Athlete of the Year in his time at George Brown.
With over 15 years of coaching experience, the current U21 Head Coach with the York United academy has an extensive background with coaching and success. He currently works with the Milton Youth Soccer Club as part of their technical staff. According to Liguori, upon his acceptance of the position, “I’m honored to have been selected to lead the Men’s Soccer program and eager to get started. I look forward to meeting with returning and new players and together build a successful program for years to come”.
Sheridan begins OCAA play with their new bench boss the first weekend in September.
