Pronghorn Athletics proudly announces the appointment of Vikram Virk as the new head coach for the University of Lethbridge Men’s Soccer Program. With nearly a decade of experience in youth development and professional soccer, Virk brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to lead the team into the future.
Virk’s impressive resume includes serving as an Assistant Coach for North Texas SC and Pacific FC, where he contributed to the development of session plans, led training sessions, and prepared comprehensive pre and post-match analysis. He also served as Head Coach for Victoria Highlanders FC and has been deeply involved in player recruitment, training and game strategy. Virk comes to the Pronghorns from Calgary, where he is currently working with the Calgary Cavalry as the League1 and U21 Head Coach.
Upon his appointment, Virk shared his thoughts, stating, “It’s a tremendous honour to be appointed as the head coach of the University of Lethbridge. Opportunities to join a U SPORTS team are rare and it’s a privilege to lead the program. I eagerly anticipate collaborating with the players and staff here. Having met everyone recently, it’s clear that we’re a tight-knit group. I’m thrilled to become a part of the Pronghorn family.”
“I’ve been fortunate to work in many different environments and have had some great mentors who have given me responsibility and trust which helped me develop tremendously as a young coach. Whether it be the training aspect, tactically or elements outside the pitch such as understanding what it takes to run a program, each experience that I’ve had has helped me prepare for this step,” said Virk.
Neil Langevin, Executive Director of Pronghorn Athletics and Recreation said, “We’re thrilled to welcome Vik Virk to our program. His meaningful experience in men’s soccer, coupled with his demonstrated growth and potential, has us incredibly excited. With a team showing promising momentum, we are excited to see how Vik can lead us towards even greater heights together.”

Pa-Modou Kah, who worked with Virk at Pacific FC and North Texas SC, commended his professionalism and dedication to improving players’ abilities, saying, “Vikram shows a high level of professionalism on and off the field and is a dedicated and committed coach looking to improve players’ tactical and technical ability every day.”

Virk holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology with a major in Mind Sciences from the University of Calgary, further underscoring his dedication to both the physical and mental aspects of performance.
In his new role, Virk aims to build on the team’s recent successes and continue the culture of growth, excellence and community engagement. With his passion for the game and track record of player development, the future looks bright for Pronghorn Men’s Soccer under Vikram Virk’s leadership.
