Women’s Futsal Top Trojans For First ACAC Championship

For the first time in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) history, the Keyano Huskies are champions of Women’s Futsal.
The Huskies claimed the title on their home court at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre in Fort McMurray, Alta. with a 2-1 win against the SAIT Trojans in a rematch of the 2022 championship game.
The final game of the 2023 ACAC Women’s Futsal Championship, featured a defensive battle with both teams scoreless through the first half. In the second half, Madison Tyson and Nathalie Andersson scored for the home side Huskies while Nicole Charlton answered for the defending champion Trojans.
Erin Mergen and Kendra Metz both put forth incredible performances in net, scuttling each chance for the opposite side.
In her final game as a Huskie, Isabela Bustos-Chaba was named the Player of the Game. Jasmin Salmon picked up Player of the Game honours for the Trojans.
