It’s playoff season in U SPORTS Women’s Soccer as the nation’s teams battle for a chance at conference banners. In OUA Quarterfinal action, leading OUA West squad Western Mustangs reigned victorious over the McMaster Marauders, finishing Saturday’s match with a commanding 5-0 clean sheet, moving up the ranking three places to No. 7.
Initially scheduled for September 26, StFX X-Women and UNB REDS faced off Friday evening in Antigonish to wrap their regular season campaign. The X-Women shutout the REDS 4-0 with goals by Lauren Reid (9thminute), Brynn Jurus (34 and 43rd minutes) and Aidan Miller (90th minute) to win the match and re-enter the U SPORTS Top 10 ranking.
Conference championships take place this week.
