No. 3 Ottawa and No. 4 Queen’s Jump Up The Rankings In Women’s Soccer
Undoubtedly the story of the week has been the weather in eastern Canada.
But the battle hardened athletes of the past two years of COVID no doubt will find a way to come out on fire. All thoughts are with the friends and families down east.
Here are the week 3 national women’s soccer rankings:
No. 1 UBC Thunderbirds and No. 2 Trinity Western Spartans remain the top teams to beat despite the Thunderbirds registering their first loss to newly ranked No. 10 Calgary Dinos (3-2) in this week’s U SPORTS rankings.
This week, the biggest movers in women’s soccer are the No. 3 Ottawa Gee-Gees and No. 4 Queen’s Gaels advancing two and four positions, respectively, and displacing No. 5 Montreal Carabins (6-1-0) and No. 7 Laval Rouge et Or (6-1-0) from their previous ranks.
No. 6 MacEwan Griffins jumped one spot over No. 8 Acadia Axewomen following two road win victories. Post-tropical storm Fiona put Acadia’s three-game winning streak on hold, as were No. 9 Cape Breton Capers’ home matchups versus Moncton and UNB.
Western drops out of the top 10 replaced by the Calgary Dinos.
