A new era of Pronghorn men’s soccer will begin this fall with the hiring of a new head coach and Pronghorn Athletics is thrilled to name Davin Haigh the new head coach of the men’s soccer program. Haigh becomes the fourth head coach in the programs history.
“Davin’s recent U SPORTS and semi-pro coaching experience will benefit our current and future Pronghorns,” said Executive Director Neil Langevin. “He has a breadth of experience and his passion and energy will help him as we move forward in a new model for our Head Coach.
“The team is looking forward to growing with Davin and will be able to work closely with him in August and the fall season. I am looking forward to a new era for Pronghorn Soccer.”
Haigh joins the Pronghorns with wealth of coaching experience and was recently named the Head Coach of the Unity FC of League 1BC – a Pro-Am league operating in BC that has a goal of bridging the gap between youth and professional soccer. The inaugural season for the Unity FC begins on Sunday May 22nd.
“I am thrilled with the opportunity to become the next head coach of the Pronghorn Men’s Soccer Program. I am grateful to Neil Langevin, Spencer Pommells, and the entire search committee for trusting me lead this program moving forward,” Said Haigh on being named the new head coach. “I would like to also recognize Randy Bardock for his dedication and devotion toward developing the program, along with the alumni who gave both on and off the field, helping leave the jersey in a better place. We will continue to build on this legacy and try to make them proud.”
Familiar with the Canada West conference, Haigh has also served the technical coaching staff with the Trinity Western Spartans since 2018. He also coached with the Langley United Soccer Association and Fraser Valley Selects, as a head coach at the U18, U17 and U16 levels.
Having just completed his Master’s in Education through the University of Ottawa, Haigh is currently at Douglas College working as a social work program coordinator.
The Port Coquitlam product also has experience as a student-athlete, playing soccer in the Ontario University Association (OUA) with the University of Windsor Lancers.
Training camp for the Pronghorn men’s soccer team will start in early August with the Canada West regular season kicking off at the end of August.
