Meet the crew: Atlético Ottawa Unveils Technical Staff For 2022
The following story is from a press release courtesy of Atlético Ottawa on April 5, 2022 https://atleticoottawa.canpl.ca/article/meet-the-crew-atletico-ottawa-unveils-technical-staff-for-2022.
The first match of the 2022 season is just days away, and Head Coach Carlos González has assembled a skilled group of technical staff to support the team and lead us to success. When González was appointed to lead the Atleti squad, he also ensured he would have trusted coaches by his side, bringing two members of his former staff in Kuwait with him to Ottawa in David Galán, an assistant coach and physical preparation lead, as well as Borja Montero, a goalkeeper coach.
Another addition that will surely please the local fans is that of Kwesi Loney as an assistant coach. Loney is well known for leading the Carleton Raven’s Men’s Soccer program, first as an assistant coach, then as the head coach since 2016. He has been named OUA East Coach of the Year twice and received the U SPORTS Coach of the Year title in 2019. Himself a graduate of Carleton University, Loney is well-versed in the local and Canadian soccer landscape and should be a valuable insider for coach González.
